Microsoft Excel

Your Excel trackers, filled in from your email

Many teams run on an Excel workbook. Workflows add rows to its tables, update the row that matches a key, and append timestamped notes to a cell — on SharePoint or OneDrive.

Workflows you can build

Each one starts from a real situation and uses only nodes that exist today. Test it on past emails before you publish it.

  • Log invoices without duplicates

Each invoice adds a row to the tracker table; with a key column, a retried step adds nothing twice.

    1. Email received
    2. Extract
    3. Excel — add a row
  • Update a status when the client answers

The row carrying the file number is found and its status column updated.

    2. Extract
    3. Excel — update a row
  • Keep a history in a cell

A one-line summary of each exchange is appended to the client’s notes cell, after what is already there.

How to connect Microsoft Excel

Excel uses your Microsoft connection: the Files access for a workbook on OneDrive, the SharePoint access for a workbook on a site.

Before you start

  • A Microsoft 365 work or school account. Personal accounts (Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live) cannot be connected.
  • The Files access (workbooks on OneDrive) or the SharePoint access (workbooks on a site) on your Microsoft connection.

The full guide in the documentation

  1. An administrator of your Loop & Roll instance registers your organisation’s application in Microsoft Entra ID once.
  2. Each member opens Connections, clicks Add a connection, then Connect on the Microsoft card, and accepts the consent screen.
  3. On the account’s row in Connections, add the Files or SharePoint access, depending on where the workbook lives: a separate consent, for that access only.
  4. Pick the account in the node: the workflow acts with that member’s own rights.
