OpenRouter

One key, the right model for each step

OpenRouter gives you models from many vendors behind a single key. Each AI node links to its own model node, so a light model can sort while a stronger one drafts.

What you can automate with OpenRouter

Link the OpenRouter model node to the Model port of any AI node: that step then runs on OpenRouter.

Actions

The AI steps this model can power.

  • Categorize

Classifies the email into the categories you define and routes it down the matching branch.

  • Extract

Extracts the fields you declare from the email (number, date, amount…) into the working data.

  • Summarize

Summarizes the email in a few lines, in the style and length you choose.

  • Compose (AI)

Has the model write a message from your instructions and the recipient profile (formality, tone, language, signature).

  • Free instruction (AI)

Gives the model a free-form instruction about the email and the working data.

Workflows you can build

Each one starts from a real situation and uses only nodes that exist today. Test it on past emails before you publish it.

  • A light model to sort, a strong one to write

Categorize runs on a fast, inexpensive model; Compose uses a more capable one for the replies that matter.

    1. Email received
    2. Categorize
    3. Compose (AI)
    4. Send as draft
  • Compare vendors on real email

Test the same workflow on past emails with a different model, without sending anything, and keep the one that gets it right.

How to connect OpenRouter

An administrator adds one OpenRouter key for the whole organisation. Members then use it from the workflow editor without ever seeing it.

Before you start

  • An OpenRouter account with credits.
  • An administrator account on Loop & Roll: only administrators manage AI connections.

The full guide in the documentation

  1. Create an API key in openrouter.ai/keys.
  2. As an administrator, open Connections and, in the Artificial intelligence section, click Configure on the OpenRouter row.
  3. Paste the key, choose the models your organisation may use, then click Save and Test.
  4. In a workflow, link a OpenRouter model node to the Model port of any AI node.

Automate OpenRouter with Loop & Roll

We build the workflow around your processes, test it on your past emails and put it into service with your teams.
